2025 Ford Bronco

A client came to me after their 2025 Ford Bronco suffered repeated brake failures within the first few thousand miles. As a lemon law attorney, brake complaints are always something I take seriously, and this one was no exception. I started digging.

As I worked through the complaint data, NHTSA filings, and service bulletins, it became clear the brake issue was part of a broader set of problems affecting this model. From instrument panel blackouts to hardtop cracking to headlights icing over in cold weather, Bronco owners were dealing with a range of defects that went well beyond typical new vehicle growing pains.

I’m Sergei Lemberg, and I’ve spent over twenty years representing consumers in lemon law and vehicle defect cases. I reviewed owner complaints, NHTSA data, recall filings, and service bulletins, and I’m sharing what I found here so Bronco owners know exactly what they may be dealing with and what their legal options are. Let’s dig in.

Most Common Problems

Several data sources reveal recurring issues reported by 2025 Ford Bronco owners. Based on complaint frequency and severity, the primary problems include:

  • Electronic Brake System Failures: Sudden loss of braking power, brake warning lights, and related safety hazards reported at low mileage.
  • Instrument Panel Cluster Malfunctions: Dashboard display going black or not responding, causing visibility issues for speedometer and warning indicators.
  • Audio and Speaker System Failures: Random audio cutouts affecting music, phone calls, and navigation instructions, with no fix currently available.
  • Hardtop and Roof Cracking: Visible cracking with a snakeskin pattern in the molded roof, which appears to affect multiple model years including 2023 and 2025 builds.
  • Lighting and Visibility Problems: LED headlights icing over in cold weather, reducing forward visibility and creating hazardous driving conditions.

Other minor defects noted include rear air vent malfunctions, faulty backup camera mounts, and intermittent warning system alerts, but these are less frequently reported.

#1: Electronic Brake System Failures

I found brake problems to be among the most serious issues with the 2025 Bronco due to their direct impact on safety. Multiple owners reported sudden and repeated brake failures, often with the brake pedal traveling to the floor and warning lights activating unpredictably.

Common symptoms include:

  • Brake pedal going completely to the floor requiring excessive pumping.
  • Multiple dashboard warnings such as ABS, electronic brake booster (EBB) faults, and collision detection errors.
  • Loss of normal braking with only electronic parking brake and engine braking available.

One owner shared: “After February 18th 2026 brake failure I had bronco towed to Suntrup Ford in Kirkwood Missouri and that’s where it will stay. I am too frightened to drive it again.” Another noted the vehicle was towed to a dealership and remains there due to safety concerns.

I have seen that Ford issued a recall related to the Electronic Brake Booster, but not all affected vehicles have had the defect corrected.

#2: Instrument Panel Cluster Malfunctions

I observed many complaints about the instrument panel cluster (IPC) malfunctioning. Owners report that the entire dashboard display goes black or freezes at crucial moments, impairing the ability to monitor speed, warnings, and safety alerts.

Symptoms often include:

  • Complete blackout of speedometer and other gauge displays without warning.
  • Dashboard flickering or nonresponsive controls during driving.
  • Safety systems such as lane-keeping and collision alerts failing to provide feedback.

An owner described a dangerous collision scenario: “While driving my 2025 Ford Outerbanks, the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) screen suddenly went completely black without warning. Despite my efforts to correct and avoid impact, the 18-wheeler collided with my vehicle. At the time of the crash, I had no visibility of any dashboard warnings, alerts, vehicle speed, or safety notifications due to the IPC failure.”

#3: Audio and Speaker System Failures

Next up, owners reported that the 2025 Bronco has audio system defects affecting sound output related to music, phone Bluetooth calls, and navigation instructions.

Typical symptoms include:

  • Random complete loss of speaker sound without any prior warning.
  • Navigation voice directions cutting out, forcing drivers to look away from the road.
  • The issue persists even after multiple dealership visits and diagnostics.

One owner told me: “When using navigation, if the sound cuts out unexpectedly, I am forced to look down at my device for directions, which distracts me from the road and increases the risk of an accident. Losing audio output directly impacts driver safety.”

#4: Hardtop and Roof Cracking

I noticed a recurring cosmetic and structural issue related to the molded-in-color (MIC) hardtop cracking in a snakeskin-like pattern, reported by owners across 2023 and 2025 model years.

Owners report:

  • Visible snakeskin cracking on the surface of the hardtop roof panels.
  • Cracks often develop even on newer models under warranty.
  • This problem appears more prevalent in certain factory batches, but still unresolved for some recent builds.

One owner stated: “Structural crack in molded in color roof compromising the integrity of vehicle roof.”

#5: Lighting and Visibility Issues

Lastly, I reviewed multiple reports about LED headlights icing over quickly in freezing drizzle or snow conditions. Because these headlights lack heating elements, ice builds up and reduces light output dangerously.

Complaints include:

  • LED lenses icing within minutes of driving in cold, wet weather.
  • Reduced visibility at night forcing owners to stop and manually clear ice.
  • Absent heating or de-icing mechanisms on factory headlights.

One Bronco owner explained: “The headlights iced over with thick slush and ice and reduced visibility to dangerous levels requiring me to pull off the road and chip off the ice putting myself in a dangerous situation being on the side of the road during a storm.”

What Should You Do If Your 2025 Ford Bronco Is a Lemon?

I want Bronco owners to know what qualifies a vehicle as a lemon. Under state lemon laws, a vehicle is typically considered a lemon if it has a substantial defect covered by warranty that cannot be fixed after a reasonable number of repair attempts, or if it poses a serious safety risk.

I recommend documenting all issues carefully, including service records, dealership communications, and symptoms experienced while driving. Filing complaints with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration also helps build a case.
