I also found scattered reports of sunroof shattering, engine ticking, and rear suspension noise

Top Problem #1: Engine Failure and Sudden Stalling

Engine failure is the top reported issue with the 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe, and as I mentioned in the intro, it follows a pattern we have been tracking across multiple Tahoe model years. Owners are reporting complete power loss and engine seizure at very low mileage, often without any prior warning lights or indication that something was wrong.

Typical symptoms reported include:

  • Loss of power while driving
  • Engine seizure with no warning lights
  • Need for full engine replacement
