tcpa class action lawsuitmortgagetcpasettlement – In lawsuits filed across the country, consumers allege that Freedom Mortgage Corp violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) placing hundreds of thousands of telemarketing calls to wireless phone numbers without the recipients’ prior express written consent.

What is the Freedom Mortgage TCPA Class Action Settlement?

A $9.5M settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit alleging Freedom Mortgage Corp violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by using an automatic telephone dialing system to call consumers who were on the National Do Not Call Registry with pre-recorded telemarketing messages.

Freedom Mortgage Corp continues to deny any any wrong doing in the case but has agreed to settle the class action lawsuit.

The Settlement affects each of the approximately 1,524,198 members of the nationwide class who received automated calls between September 1, 2013 and July 22, 2019 from or on behalf of FMC.

If the Settlement is approved, affected Class Members will be eligible to receive pro rata share of the $9.5 million settlement fund which divided among all members could equate to a monetary award far more inferior than what filing an individual suit could result in.

After attorneys’ fees and expenses and lead plaintiffs’ incentive awards are deducted, remaining eligible persons would receive an estimated cash award of only $35 based on a 10% claim rate, and could be less upon final approval.

If you chose NOT TO OPT OUT you are entitled to only the amount estimated above.
