People are complaining that J.C. Christensen and Associates may be using auto-dialers to robocall cell phones from 800-235-2731 in an attempt to try and collect debt on past due accounts. This debt collector, located in Minnesota, has a reputation for using antagonistic and invasive tactics. You should know that it’s possible these calls are being made illegally.

Unless you provided J.C. Christensen and Associates with written authorization to robocall your cell phone, such contact could be a violation of the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). Likewise, the company could be violating the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) if found calling the wrong number in order to try and collect on a debt.

You, the consumer can sue and potentially recover $500 per robocall – or triple that if J.C. Christensen and Associates intentionally violated the law by making cell phone robocalls from 800-235-2731 that violated the TCPA. If J.C. Christensen and Associates is making debt collection calls to a wrong number, they may also have committed an FDCPA violation. If so, the consumer who received the wrong number calls could sue for as much as $1,000.

If you’ve been receiving unauthorized cell phone robocalls from J.C. Christensen and Associates at 800-235-2731, submit your information for a free case evaluation. We’d be happy to help you exercise your rights under federal law.
