A complainant received a voice mail from a customer service representative at Advanced Capital Solutions. After receiving this voice mail the complainant’s phone rang once again. The representative acknowledged that the complainant had sent an email requesting payment arrangement options, but the collections company demanded that arrangements could not be made in writing. It was after the complainant explained that they are not allowed to take phone calls during the day and that they could only pay the debt if done in writing, the representative of Advanced Capital Solutions hung up on the complainant. According to the complainant, the collections company uses a “dialing system” that changes the area code so that the company can make themselves appear to be from a different area. It is also not possible to call the company back on the number through which they call debtors and they do not respond to any emails. No questions have been answered about the amount owed, and the complainant feels as though the collections company should award debtors more information and clarity about their alleged debt.
