My Investigation Into 2026 Cadillac Vistiq Problems: What Owners Need to Know

I had previously researched dashboard glare issues in the Chevy Equinox, and it turns out its cousin, the Cadillac Vistiq, has the same problem.

I came across it when I started digging into complaints for this piece. The Equinox has a fix in place, but as of now I am not seeing one for the Vistiq.

Top Problem #1: SuperCruise Safety Failures

I found that SuperCruise, Cadillac’s advanced driver assistance system, is frequently reported as unsafe or unreliable by Vistiq owners. Here’s what owners are experiencing:

• Lane departure without warnings or turn signals
• Sudden disengagements leading to loss of vehicle control
• Failure to slow for stopped traffic causing near collisions
• Inconsistent behavior depending on traffic density or road curvature

One owner described: “While hitting a curve to the right to enter a freeway leaving from another freeway, SuperCruise abruptly disengaged going 55mph almost running me into the wall!” Another reported: “So there I was just using my SuperCruise doing 70mph. While coming up on an intersection/exit/merger Google maps showed red traffic at that merger, however my car didn’t slow down at all in anticipation.”

Top Problem #2: Dashboard Glare Obstructing Visibility

As I mentioned in the intro, this is a known issue we have seen before in the Chevy Equinox. The Vistiq shares a similar problem where the silver dash coverings and speaker grills behind the instrument cluster create strong sunlight reflections onto the windshield, directly affecting driver visiblity.

• Glare obscures road view in bright daylight
• Adjusting seating position or windshield cleaning does not help
• Polarized sunglasses reduce but do not eliminate the problem
• Reflections sometimes make it impossible to see pedestrians or traffic ahead

One driver stated: “The glare from the dash to the windshield on occasion is so severe that it is impossible to see/avoid a pedestrian or other vehicle close in front of you. This is a major safety issue.”

Top Problem #3: Infotainment and Instrument Cluster Malfunctions

Many Vistiq owners report persistent issues with dashboard electronics, especially the infotainment screen and instrument cluster, which are vital for speed, navigation, and warning information.

• Screen flickers, blanks out, or freezes for seconds to hours
• Loss of speedometer visibility and turn signal indicators while driving
• Repeated need to reset the system to temporarily restore functionality
• OnStar system light turns red, cutting off access to emergency and remote features

An owner shared: “The dashboard/infotainment screen keeps alerting and going blank. I will be driving and will no longer know how fast I am going, nor if my blinkers work, or have any control of the screen.”

Top Problem #4: Charging Compatibility and Adapter Issues

The Vistiq comes with a Tesla Supercharger adapter, intended to allow charging at Tesla stations. However, numerous owners find this adapter unreliable or nonfunctional.

• Adapter often fails to initiate charging at Tesla Superchargers
• Error messages appear despite following app instructions and trying multiple locations
• Some owners tested GM adapters and replacements with no success
• Limitation reduces convenient access to high-speed charging networks

Here’s what one owner stated: “I have tried five different Supercharger locations using the official GM adapter, but I keep getting error messages and cannot charge.”
