The 2019 Jaguar E-Pace is the company’s compact SUV. It’s designed to provide luxury to drivers, and the automaker claims the new models provide a “unique combination of looks, agility and dynamic driving.” However, customers are taking to the Internet to complain about the electrical system and engine function.

A faulty electrical system can lead to a lot of trouble, especially if it occurs within one of the major systems of a vehicle. That’s what is seen with this Jaguar SUV.
One NHTSA complaint states, “It makes a loud noise from the fan. It sounds like it is getting ready to take off.”
This isn’t the only electrical system issue. Even Jaguar talks about problems with Service Bulletin #SSM75081. This communication discusses what to do when customers report the Jaguar Drive Control changing itself to the Comfort Mode without any input from the driver. It’s as if the Jaguar wants customers to be so comfortable in the SUV, that it is willing to make adjustments on its own. Maybe the E-Pace knows what customers need more than they know?
Additionally, there are some major issues occurring with the engine, which should not be considering how expensive this vehicle is.
Another NHTSA complaint says, “At random intervals, the engine fan goes into a ‘roar’ at 100% RPM and not stop until the car is shut off. This occurs regardless of the outside temperature (summer at 90F, winter at 30F aka just now). The fan noise is not proportional to the engine RPM and remains constant once it starts. The car can be shut off completely and immediately started and the fan will be reset and silent, sometimes for the rest of the day. The jet-engine sound from the fan is not fixed by turning the car off and on, just reset to the next daily occurrence. Our 9-month old E-Pace will do this at least once a day if not more.”
Along with these engine problems, Service Bulletin #SSM74385Att1 talks about reduced engine performance and induction noise under certain conditions. The engine can sound like it is operating without an air filter or as if it is missing a hose. These conditions happen most frequently with a light throttle. At the time, there is not an engine MIL indicated or any diagnostic trouble codes. Maybe this is why Jaguar doesn’t boast about the engine performance but merely focuses on the looks, agility and driving dynamics. Owners might want to prepare themselves to yell over the engine noise if they choose to drive this SUV.
Think you have a lemon? Sit back and let the experts work out your lemon case at no cost to you. The law makes Jaguar pay legal fees. You may be able to get your lemon out of your life. Every year, auto manufacturers buy back, replace or pay cash settlements to thousands of ‘lemon’ owners like you.
