Can you help me file a No Fee Lawsuit against McCarthy Burgess & Wolff?

Absolutely.  You can sue a debt collector. Here is a Sample Case Filed in Federal Court:

In 2017, McCarthy, Burgess & Wolff, Inc. was named the defendant in a proposed class action filed by a New York man who alleged the debt collector misled him concerning his right to dispute a purported debt. According to the complaint, the defendant sent the man a collection letter that instructed him to “send payment and correspondence to” a physical address, indicating that if he were to dispute the debt, he must submit the dispute in writing. The suit argues that this contradicts debt dispute requirements under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, which allegedly allow for oral disputes.

MB&W Contacted me today and asked for my personal information. When I asked them why, the person on the phone told me the company “just verifies people’s information for another company.” I asked who they collect the information for and he told me they couldn’t disclose that information. I then asked if an anonymous person can ask for my information to be verified it doesn’t seem legal that I can’t ask who.
Needless to say, I didn’t verify anything with them. Since they claimed information collection/collection verification is what they do, does that violate the law? Since they can’t state they are anything other than a debt collector?

By the way, it is very smart marketing plan to use MB&W as target that drive people to you. Next, your price structure will be winning or loss from people to become your clients along with your past performance as C-card in Government.

There was a phone bill that belonged to my brother but was not transferred to his Ss #. He recently passed away before it got resolved. Im try to dispute it with mccarthy burgess wolff his death certificate with no success as of now.

This company calls a few times a week, yet I do not owe a debt, nor did I fall behind in any. I have blocked many numbers; they must have hundreds. It’s Comcast who has them calling. They block their calls half the time so no number shows.

  • Yulivet

They call every day, every hour. I can’t sleep after 8 am on Saturdays and Sundays. They can’t even let me rest! Call from different numbers.

on march 20 2019 , i call miss bulter about how unhappy i was and do no what happen she discontinue communicating was me or in other words, hung up so lets hear it for miss bulter

They call continuously from local numbers and 844 numbers back to back. When I called back they answered the phone saying processing. The lady asked me to give her my social I refused so she hung up on me. I don’t know who they are or why they are calling but identity theft 101 says don’t give your personal info to people you don’t know over the phone. They are calling my work mobile phone that my company pays for. I need them to stop calling with bs scams

  • Gregory S

This company won’t stop calling me. They call from local numbers to make it seem as if the call is from someone that you may know. They also call back to back so that it appears to be an urgent call. I’m a recruiter. Therefore, a lot of my work includes phone calls. I can’t do my job because they constantly call. The worst part is, the debt they are attempting to collect is not my debt. It’s possibly my father’s debt, but he’s a private person so I’m positive he wouldn’t have given them my phone number. If it is his debt; how did they attach my number to his account? This is the second debt collection agency that has contacted me in the past 6 months. How can I stop them from transferring my number to the next agency regarding the debt? I was at lunch with my wife today and ignored the call twice. By the third call she became aggravated and I believe a tad bit suspicious as to why my phone was ringing off the hook from a number I did not know. This has to stop.
