Top Problem #1: Battery Drain and No Start Condition
This issue appears to be one of the most disruptive for CX-50 owners. I found multiple owner reports describing unexpected failures to start due to electrical battery drainage. I see these symptoms commonly reported:
- Car fails to start despite fully charged or replaced battery
- Rear window wiper runs continuously and cannot be stopped
- Rear lights stay on, draining the battery
- Key fob fails to lock or unlock the vehicle
- Disconnecting the battery is the only temporary fix to prevent total drain
