PacRes Mortgage Data Breach: What Happened?
Lemberg Law is investigating the data breach at Pacific Residential Mortgage, LLC (“PacRes”), which may have exposed sensitive personal and financial information of customers. If you received a notice from PacRes, your private data may be at risk.
What Happened?
On February 10, 2025, PacRes identified a ransomware attack that affected parts of its system. Cybercriminals gained unauthorized access and locked down internal systems. In response, PacRes engaged a cybersecurity firm to investigate and restore systems from backup.
A forensic review revealed that the attackers may have accessed or stolen sensitive customer information. The company began notifying potentially affected individuals on March 25, 2025.
What Information was Exposed?
The compromised data may include:
- Full name
- Address
- Date of birth
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
- Bank account or other financial account details
What You Can Do
If you received a breach notice from PacRes:
- Enroll in credit monitoring
- Review your credit reports, bank statements, and accounts for suspicious activity
- Place a fraud alert or credit freeze to limit new account creation in your name
