Can you help me file a No Fee Lawsuit against AscensionPoint Recovery Services?

Absolutely. You can sue a debt collector.

A complainant explains that their husband passed away in August. It was later in October, that the complainant received a letter from AscensionPoint Recovery Services claiming that their husband owed about $4000, “but it did not state who he owed the money to.” The complainant then chose to call the collections company, but AscensionPoint Recovery Services claimed that they would not tell the complainant who was owed the money. Though no information was revealed, the complainant claims that they, “knew no money was owed to anyone since my husband was diligent in paying the bills on time if not early.”

The complainant then chose to send a cease & desist letter. In response, the collections company sent another letter with a different amount owed (about $3000) directing the complainant to their “files” website area. Afterwards, the complainant reviewed their documentation on the debt. She found that “there were several monthly statements from a credit card ALL of which indicated each statement had been paid on time!!” If all accounts had been paid off, what reason is there to collect on $3,000 worth of debt?
