The 2019 Ford E-Series is created as both a work van and a chassis that can be customized for other uses. While the company claims this model is “designed for comfort,” drivers tend to disagree. In fact, this model continues to suffer from major electrical system issues, a defective engine and a dangerous suspension system.

Problems with the Electrical System
The 2019 Ford E-Series contains some newer equipment that is designed to provide an enjoyable driving experience, but it seems to just create more problems.
One NHTSA complaint states, “The contact owns a 2019 Gulf Stream B Touring Cruiser RV that was built on a 2019 Ford E-450 Chassis. The contact stated that after the RV was parked, the chassis battery lost charge. The RV was taken to [RV dealership] to be diagnosed and the contact was referred to a local Ford dealer. The unknown dealer informed the contact that there was an electrical shortage in the radio that caused the battery to continuously drain. The contact was informed that the radio would be repaired instead of replaced. The radio control unit provided access to several safety features in the RV. The battery was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 966.”
This RV didn’t even get to travel 1000 miles before failing. How disappointing. There is also a notable electrical system-related recall. NHTSA Campaign Number 19V428000 states that these models have a back-up camera image that reverts back to factory settings, causing the image to show up reversed. Seeing things backward must be just a clever way to confuse drivers into thinking that this model is “designed for comfort.”
Problems with the Engine
It doesn’t take long to see how defective this model truly is. Looking at the engine alone, it’s clear there is a major defect with E-Series vans.
Repair Pal states these vans suffer from a “rough running engine and possible Check Engine Light.”
However, Ford has nothing to say about the problem. It’s impossible to find any communication about fixing the engines or making them better for customers. Very disappointing considering how much money businesses spend to let their employees experience the “comfort” this van promises.

Problems with the Suspension
People often complain about the ride in the E-Series vans.
Here’s another comment from Repair Pal – “front end may make rattle noise over bumps, handling issues.”
Apparently, Ford thinks that drivers who are busy working want to fight to keep their van on the road. Instead of being delivery drivers, maybe these employees could start a wrestling career since they are getting so good at doing it day-in and day-out.
