Can Grimley Financial Corporation Sue Me or Garnish My Wages?

It is illegal for a debt collector to make empty threats to sue you or garnish your wages. It is also unlikely GFC would sue you for a debt you may not owe or they cannot validate. However, debt collection agencies are known to have summoned debtors to court and garnish wages after a default judgement. Contacting an attorney BEFORE this could possibly happen would be a smart move. We’ve helped thousands of consumers fight back against unscrupulous debt collection harassers. Can you help me file a No Fee Lawsuit against Grimley Financial Corporation?

Absolutely. Here are some Sample Complaints

In May 2017, a patient was contacted by one of GFC’s pre-collect representatives about billing for a surgical procedure. Because the complainant was contacted by GFC and not the provider, the complainant found GFC’s conduct “shady.” GFC reviewed the collection notes for the calls in question and indicated that there did not appear to have been any problems on either side during the call. Also in May 2017, a complainant indicated a GFC representative had been rude and unprofessional during a telephone conversation. After requesting a transfer to a supervisor, the complainant received the information she was requesting, but still insisted both representatives were rude. Finally, in April 2015, a complainant indicated that she had been contacted by GFC regarding a debt. GFC had indicated they had sent written notification a few days earlier that should arrive soon. Two weeks later, the complainant called GFC to let them know she still had not received verification. According to the complainant, the GFC representative said they had already sent it, that it was “too bad” if she had not received it, and then refused the complainant’s request to send a duplicate copy. GFC’s review of the complaint confirmed that the agent had refused to send verification, and GFC management provided contact for follow-up and promised to send written notification.

Grimley Financial Corporation Calling You?

Federal laws protect you. The Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) regulates the behavior of collection agencies by prohibiting actions such as the use of abusive or threatening language; harassment; or the use of false or misleading information to collect a debt. The FCRA regulates how collection agencies and creditors report delinquent debts to credit reporting agencies. Additional consumer protection laws include the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and the Consumer Financial Protection Act (CFPA).

But here’s the rub: If you want to enforce your rights, or recover money for violations — you need to sue. These laws provide individuals like you with a means to seek monetary damages in court. For example, the FDCPA allows consumers who have been violated to recover damages of up to $1,000, plus attorney fees and court costs.
