Can you help me file a No Fee Lawsuit against Pelican Auto Finance?
Absolutely. Here are some Sample Cases against Pelican Auto Finance LLC.
According to information available on the BBB website, complaints against Pelican Auto Finance raise issues with billing, collections and customer service. Consumers complain, among other things, that they are unable to resolve loan payment problems even after following the direction of company employees. They also complain about harassing collection tactics. The 7 negative reviews on Pelican’s BBB profile support these allegations.
In September 2017, a complainant indicated that Pelican Auto Finance collections employees were still “harassing” him weeks after he traded in his car, telling him to make a payment that was not due. The complainant alleged that he purchased a car financed by Pelican in 2015 and traded it in towards the purchase of a new car in 2017. According to the complainant, the payoff amount received from the trade-in resolved the debt to Pelican, including a monthly payment that otherwise would have become due. Nevertheless, a few days after the complainant purchased his new car, Pelican called him and insisted he needed to make the regular monthly payment. When the complainant advised the Pelican representative that he had traded in his car and that the payoff amount included the payment that they sought, the representative “started badgering him to make the payment” anyway. The complainant indicated that although he explained the situation “calmly and nicely”, the Pelican representative was “rude” to him. The complainant confirmed with the dealer to whom he traded his car that Pelican would shortly receive the payoff amount and that it included the payment Pelican sought from him. The complainant indicated that he did not “appreciate how he was spoken to on the phone by Pelican” and that he was “still being harassed” by Pelican weeks later, even after filing the BBB complaint.
In June 2016, a complainant indicated that he had had “multiple negative experiences” with Pelican and “difficulty with this company since the beginning.” The complainant alleged that Pelican representatives failed to verify his account information, gave him information on someone else’s account, questioned his truthfulness, and were rude to him on the phone. According to the complainant, he contacted Pelican multiple times for account information, to advise them that a payment would be late, and to set up payments. When Pelican Auto Finance representatives were unable to verify his account information and the complainant asked to speak to a manager or supervisor, the representatives had “hung up on him more than one time.” Shortly before filing his complaint with the BBB, the complainant had called Pelican to let the company know that his payment would be late. The Pelican representative told him that his address was wrong and asked if the complainant really lived there. The complainant explained that he had already spoken to a manager about this same issue, that the address they recited was an apartment complex and that the person they had listed at the address could have been a prior tenant. The Pelican Auto Finance representative told the complainant it “was a struggle” to get information out of him and questioned whether the complainant knew someone by the name the company had listed. When the complainant asked to speak to a manager, the representative “laughed.” Although the complainant then spoke to a manager who told him the account information and payment he set up would be “taken care of,” the payment that the complainant set up was still not showing up in the system.

Pelican Auto Finance Calling You?
Understanding Your Debt Collection Rights
Consumers are protected from abusive debt collectors from the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). By way of instance, the debt collector must identify himself or herself, who they’re working for, and what debt they’re collecting. The FDCPA claims that debt collectors can’t use any deceptive or misleading representation, like implying the debt is secured by the USA or any particular state. Additionally, they can’t use a badge or uniform to pretend they’re a government employee collecting a debt. Misrepresentation is a violation of the FDCPA and could be reported as such.
In case you’ve been a victim of a debt collector’s wrongdoing, then you can search for justice under the FDCPA. You have the right to pursue a claim against the debt collector; if you prevail, you can collect up to $1,000, plus attorney fees and court costs.
