Can Receivable Solutions Specialists Sue Me or Garnish My Wages?
It is illegal for a debt collector to make empty threats to sue you or garnish your wages. It is also unlikely RSS would sue you for a debt you may not owe or they cannot validate. However, debt collection agencies are known to have summoned debtors to court and garnish wages after a default judgement. Contacting an attorney BEFORE this could possibly happen would be a smart move. We’ve helped thousands of consumers fight back against unscrupulous debt collection harassers. Can you help me file a No Fee Lawsuit against Receivable Solutions Specialists?
Absolutely. Here are some Sample Complaints
Complaints against Receivable Solutions Specialists commonly cite problems resulting from disputes about the validity of debts and the accuracy of information reported to the credit reporting agencies. In October 2017, a complainant indicated that he had been receiving calls and letters from RSS for the previous 4 years. He stated that he had already paid the bill they were attempting to collect, but that when he contacted them to discuss his previous payments, RSS representatives told him they could not find any record of his payments. He insisted that he was unwilling to be held responsible for a bill he already paid, and that his “credit report is struggling because of” RSS’s collection practices. He also stated that Receivable Solutions Specialists is “unprofessional and a terrible business”; that he has “heard nothing but… terrible reviews stating the same problem” from other consumers; and that “something needs to be done about” their business practices. In response, RSS stated that there was “no record of RSS… ever having an account for the above customer,” but that if he “had a bill that …he paid off and it was still showing up on his credit report after 4 years, he …can contact the credit bureaus to dispute charge.” The complainant accepted the proposed resolution, adding that, “surprisingly,… the delinquent item had … been removed from his credit report.”
In September 2016, a complainant indicated that he had paid $50 to the original creditor “before it was turned over to Receivable Solutions Specialists for collection.” The complainant “discovered the derogatory item that RSS had put on his credit report, thanks to his credit monitoring service.” He called RSS to dispute the inaccurate report, but “since he couldn’t find… proof that he had paid the original creditor at that time, he paid another $50 while he was on the phone with… RSS.” Allegedly, the RSS representative “promised to send the complainant confirmation of the payment to his email address, but he never received it.” He stated that he wrote to RSS “requesting confirmation of the payment AND to request that the derogatory entry be removed from his credit report.” He “included a copy of the check…refunding the second $50 payment, but …the derogatory item still remains on his Equifax credit report showing that he owes $40.” In response, RSS indicated that the “account had been paid as of November 2013,” and that the “credit bureaus were informed that this was paid, and it should have been deleted from the consumer’s credit report…RSS has now submitted again an immediate deletion of this account.”
Receivable Solutions Specialists Calling You?
Federal laws protect you. The Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) regulates the behavior of collection agencies by prohibiting actions such as the use of abusive or threatening language; harassment; or the use of false or misleading information to collect a debt. The FCRA regulates how collection agencies and creditors report delinquent debts to credit reporting agencies. Additional consumer protection laws include the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and the Consumer Financial Protection Act (CFPA).
But here’s the rub: If you want to enforce your rights, or recover money for violations — you need to sue. These laws provide individuals like you with a means to seek monetary damages in court. For example, the FDCPA allows consumers who have been violated to recover damages of up to $1,000, plus attorney fees and court costs.

Jody and her staff were comprehensive, useful, and above all else powerful. I highly recommend their services and thank them for their continual efforts.”
“When my husband got sick and lost his job, I understood that paying all of the medical bills was going to be an issue. What I didn’t understand was that we’d be bombed with telephone calls day and night. I found your site and was contacted the same day that I submitted my advice. You did not charge me, you got cash from the collector, and we finally have silent phones. Thank you for what you did for us!”
“We were so impressed with how the attorney listened to us and understood the position we were in. Thank you for stopping the calls. The check was a nice bonus, but mostly we’re glad we’re not being hounded anymore.”
“Thank you for standing with me Lemberg Law. I was so afraid I could lose my job because of a caller who called my job number 4 hours straight back to back. He not only harassed and threatened me but also abused workmates who received the call when I wasn’t around. Since I solicited for your services, I’ve had a peace of mind, and I’m happy because of the few dollars I got as a settlement.”
