Lemberg Law is investigating a data breach involving VeriSource Services, Inc. (VSI), a company that manages employee benefit and administrative data for other businesses. If you received a VSI breach notification, your personal information may have been exposed.
What Happened?
On February 28, 2024, VSI discovered unauthorized activity affecting its systems. The company says it immediately secured its network and hired a digital forensics firm to investigate. The investigation found that on or about February 27, 2024, an unknown actor may have acquired sensitive personal information. VSI finalized its internal review and began notifying affected individuals in April 2025. At this time, there is no indication of misuse.
Exposed Information
The potentially impacted data may include:
- Name
- Address
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Social Security number
The data varies by individual and includes information on employees, beneficiaries, or dependents of VSI client companies.
What VeriSource Is Doing
VSI says it reported the incident to the FBI and has implemented new security measures to prevent future breaches. The company is also offering complimentary identity protection and credit monitoring services through IDX, including dark web monitoring, identity theft insurance, and fully managed recovery services.
