Is CheckRedi a scam?

They’re legit. CheckRedi should be considered a legitimate business. This collection company’s 17 years of experience alone is enough to reason that the company is not a scam. However, on top of this extensive experience CheckRedi has additionally received BBB accreditation and an “A+” rating from the Better Business Bureau. Due to these factors it is incredibly important that you, as a consumer, take your alleged debt with this collections company seriously and choose to contact the collector in order to resolve any discrepancy.

Additionally, CheckRedi claims to pride themselves on completing one main goal, “to achieve safe, convenient, and efficient payment processing platforms that appeal to both the consumer using the service and the business owner handling the operational responsibilities.” The collections company additionally claims to utilize traditional check collections, electronic check collections, check verification and “school program” within their business. On top of the information this collections company provides on its website, zoominfo.com writes that the company has an employee base of 22 and revenue of $4 million.

According to the BBB and a variety of other sources, many complainants feel that CheckRedi may not have completed their established “goal”, and allegedly violated collectors law in not doing so. Though this company is not a scam, tread lightly and be aware of any potential violations of collector’s law.

Who does CheckRedi collect for?

CheckRedi does not cite on their website which specific area of collections that they specialize in, or what specific companies they work for. Due to this lack of information available on this collections website, it is wisest to confirm which debt is specifically owed and to whom when inquiring about your debt. Due to the outsourcing of debt, inquiring as soon as possible is the smartest move to make because one collection account can turn into many reporting on your credit file if the debt is not dealt with.

How many complaints are there against CheckRedi?

First, on the Better Business Bureau the collections company has received 45 complaints closed in the last 3 years, 13 complaints closed in thelast 12 months, and 6 customer reviews awarding the company 1 star overall. Additionally, on Google Reviews the company has received 18 reviews amounting to a 1.2 star review overall. These complaints alleged that CheckRedi was using unethical collections practices, potentially violating the FDCPA.

CheckRedi has responded to many of these complaints. However, the similarities between these complaints and the angry sentiments of complainants awards this collections company a less than glowing review. More seriously, this collections company could have also been a part of a variety of lawsuits, sanctions, and penalties according to  Public Access to Court Electronic Records (“PACER”), which reports all federal complaints within the U.S. federal system’s docket.

Can CheckRedi Sue Me or Garnish My Wages?

Like most collections companies, CheckRedi would likely only choose to sue or garnish wages after a default judgement. This choice is due to the fact that it is illegal for CheckRedi to make empty threats to sue you or garnish your wages. Therefore, a collection company would likely choose not to sue you for a debt you may not owe or they cannot verify, but it is the wisest option to contact an attorney preemptively to ensure the safety of your assets and rights. Lemberg Law awards consumers the power to fight back against these fraudulent collection practices. Need Help? Call us today.

Can you help me file a No Fee Lawsuit against CheckRedi?

Absolutely. You can sue a debt collector. Here is a sample complaint:

A complainant explains that they previously purchased $12 worth of gas at Cumberland Farms. After making this purchase, the complainant received an email saying that the transaction was declined from their bank. Next, the complainant called their bank and the bank said that the complainant did in fact have sufficient funds in their account and the transaction should not have been declined. After receiving this confirmation, the complainant then spoke to CheckRedi, who claimed that they were going to charge the complainant a $35 fee. Because the complainant did not even spend this amount of money, and more seriously because they have proof of the sufficient funds in their account, the complainant believes that this payment is unnecessary. The collections company responded by claiming that they would not waive the fee.

I’m eating Check Redi not the law firm

Check Redi is charging me $50 for two trips to Royal Farms gas station where I used a Royal Farms Rewards card with a closed bank account connected to it after I updated the bank account. They repeatedly call my family and father (who has the same me as me). They have been told several times they have the wrong person by myself and my father. Four employees have agreed to send me a bill via mail so I can have proof of payment. I have not ever received a bill. Now they are saying they do not and will not send a bill. The supervisor said he can email a bill and I can print it. They just continued to call my father’s company because they now know that has been upsetting and causing family problems. I just don’t know what to do…
