Luxury SUVs have become a dime a dozen, but the 2018 Maserati Levante claims to be different. In fact, the newest lineup is hailed as “a force of nature,” but customers have noticed the winds of change. The structure isn’t created as a luxury model should be and the powertrain leaves a lot to be desired.

Premium materials are used on high-end automobiles and it’s assumed that the construction is performed to the utmost level. Sadly, that’s not the case with the 2018 Maserati Levante, which struggles to convince users that any care was put into the construction.
Just look at this Edmunds review. “The car started falling apart the first week of ownership. Plastic windshield molding literally came out and started flapping about the first time I got on a freeway. On top of that the USB port didn’t work at all. Being disappointed I took the car back to the dealership and the sales person drove with me to service and told me that all will be taken care of. The service dept. gave me a loaner and I didn’t hear from them for 4 days. Finally I called. They told me they were waiting for parts for the stereo system. It had to be completely replaced because of a short in the USB port. When I picked up the car one of my rims and tire was damaged. It had a 3 inch gash. Of course service manager said that it wasn’t them, but agreed to fix the rim only not willing to change a brand new but damaged tire. 3 days later molding popped out again and I was right back again. I have since made 6 more trips to service department for various noise/parts reasons. Service manager refuses to fix factory defective brakes. Brakes make a lot of grinding/squealing noise when braking.”
It must have been quite shocking to this user to find out about NHTSA Campaign Number 18V34700. This recall states that the subframe welds were not completed properly, thereby allowing the welds to fracture and cause complete loss of vehicle control. If that’s not enough, consider Service Bulletin #MAS001850, which also talks about the repairs needed to prevent water infiltration into the body of the vehicle. Are these concerns that any luxury car owner should have to deal with? Surely not. Actually, any “force of nature” could cause a flood in the cabin or the weld to break. That doesn’t sound like something to pay a premium price for.
A car’s powertrain consists of the transmission and several other components that help the vehicle move. When one aspect of this system fails, owners realize it by either not being able to operate the vehicle or having a rough-shifting experience.
Some of the troubles are described with this Cars.com review discussing the powertrain and other problems. “Sounds like it needs a new muffler–horribly noisy, like an old clunker -service at [dealer] is absolutely the worst -had my brand new Levante in the repair shop 4 times for a total of 15 days —-one day after I bought it -now, stalls out on cold mornings, slips out of ‘Park’, engine does not shut down, —-I can go on and on—should have bought the Porsche -wrote to Robert Graczyk, president of Maserati—-no response—-not even a courtesy reply!”
Unfortunately, the automaker doesn’t want to discuss these problems in any further detail. For them, it’s best to remain silent and hope that customers don’t realize the issues. However, slipping out of Park and having trouble keeping the engine running are not problems that can be easily looked over, especially every month when the owner has to look at the extravagant car payment. If there’s one thing that the Levante does that makes it “a force of nature,” it’s the ability to deceive owners into paying top dollar for a lemon.
Think you have a lemon? Sit back and let the experts work out your lemon case at no cost to you. The law makes Maserati pay legal fees. You may be able to get your lemon out of your life. Every year, auto manufacturers buy back, replace or pay cash settlements to thousands of ‘lemon’ owners like you.

I learned and got a lot of knowledge not to buy the Maserati Laverne 2018 or the 2017 electrical problems and driving ability and structure saves me a lot of money I will keep my BMW X3 2017 m series never had a problem with it and buy me new tires and keep that $21,000 in the bank instead of trading it in and spending that money can’t take it with me but I damn sure don’t want to be stuck on the highway looking Sharp and looking like a fool thanks 🙏 save your money Maserati just a name
