NRA Group Calling You?
Federal laws protect you. The Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) regulates the behavior of collection agencies by prohibiting actions such as the use of abusive or threatening language; harassment; or the use of false or misleading information to collect a debt. The FCRA regulates how collection agencies and creditors report delinquent debts to credit reporting agencies. Additional consumer protection laws include the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and the Consumer Financial Protection Act (CFPA).
But here’s the rub: If you want to enforce your rights, or recover money for violations — you need to sue. These laws provide individuals like you with a means to seek monetary damages in court. For example, the FDCPA allows consumers who have been violated to recover damages of up to $1,000, plus attorney fees and court costs.
How many complaints are there against NRA Group?
As of April 2017, the Better Business Bureau reported 114 closed NRA Group complaints within the previous three years, including 27 closed National Recovery Agency complaints within the previous 12 months. The BBB gives National Recovery Agency an A rating. In addition, Justia lists 17 NRA Group complaints filed in federal court in the past year alleging violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Furthermore, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) lists 56 closed for 2016.
It is illegal for a debt collector to make empty threats to sue you or garnish your wages. It is also unlikely National Recovery would sue you for a debt you may not owe or they cannot validate. However, debt collection agencies are known to have summoned debtors to court and garnish wages after a default judgement. Contacting an attorney BEFORE this could possibly happen would be a smart move. We’ve helped thousands of consumers fight back against unscrupulous debt collection harassers. Find out if we can help you too today!

Can you help me file a No Fee Lawsuit against NRA Group?
Absolutely. Here is a Sample Case Filed in Federal Court
In 2016, a judge in U.S. District Court, Middle District of Pennsylvania, denied NRA Group’s motion to dismiss Daubert vs. NRA Group for alleged violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. According to the judge’s decision, the consumer claimed that NRA Group was trying to collect a $25 medical bill, and the collection agency’s vendor sent the consumer a letter that included a barcode containing his account number. The letter, mailed in a window envelope, also included his account number just above his address. NRA Group argued that the case should be dismissed because the consumer lacked standing to sue in light of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Spokeo vs. Robins. The court rejected NRA Group’s argument, denied its motion to dismiss, and allowed the case to move forward.
Press Releases of Lawsuits Brought On By Lemberg Law Against NRA Group – National Recovery Associates
December 17, 2015.Debt collectors often call consumers on their cell phones to try to collect on debts. However, there are laws outlining when and how often they can call. Sometimes debt collectors will violate those laws and harass consumers, which is what our client says NRAG did to him.
In order to try to collect on a debt, our client claims that NRAG called his cell phone up to five times a week. He believes that the calls were an attempt to harass him into paying. Lemberg Law has recently filed a suit on his behalf in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Superior Court.
The suit charges the NRA Group with violating the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Act by using unfair or deceptive acts to collect a debt and contacting our client more than two times in a week. The suit asks for damages, plus other relief.
October 12, 2015. On behalf of our client, Lemberg Law recently filed a complaint in U.S. District Court, Middle District of Pennsylvania. The case, against NRA Group, charges the debt collection agency with violating federal law and asks for $1,000 in statutory damages, plus other relief.
Getting a call that’s the wrong number is slightly annoying, but it’s understandable that mistakes can happen. But continuing to get wrong number calls is exasperating. And that’s what our client says happened when NRAG called him to collect a debt from a woman he doesn’t even know. Our client told the NRAG debt collector that that they’d made a mistake and asked that they remove his phone number from their account. But NRA Group kept calling him anyway.
The lawsuit charges that NRAG violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) by engaging in harassing behavior; by calling our client about the woman’s debt without being asked to do so; and by using unfair and unconscionable means to collect a debt.
October 1, 2015.On behalf of our client, Lemberg Law recently filed a complaint in U.S. District Court, Southern District of Texas. The case, against NRA Group, charges the debt collection agency with violating federal law and asks for $1,000 in statutory damages, plus other relief.
If a debt collection agency is on the line, it’s understandable to want to know exactly why they’re calling. Our client says that NRAG called him about a debt, and that he asked NRAG who the creditor was. Simple enough question, right? He says that the NRAG debt collector told him that they didn’t have any information about the debt and that the only way to get the calls to stop was to agree to a payment plan.
The lawsuit charges that NRA Group violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) by engaging in harassing behavior; by using false, deceptive, and/or misleading representations or means in connection with debt collection; by employing false and deceptive means to collect a debt; and by using unfair and unconscionable means to collect a debt.

I’ve been getting text messages from them once in a while, but I’m hesitant to go to the website and sign in, as I’m unsure if it’s legit as I’m unaware of any debt I might owe… It tells me it’s from somewhere I don’t recognize, for a price I don’t ever remember being charged for anything… What’s more, I’ve received the same or nearly the same messages, from multiple numbers, all of which I have blocked and reported as spam. They also use a photo of the “NRA” group logo before the message to make it look legit… Is it a scam, idk, but it’s concerning to me, as if there IS a legal debt in my name it’s the first time I’ve heard of it, and by text at that, so I’m wondering if they somehow got the wrong number or something

These NRA morons sent me a bunch of text messages for a $21.00 debt to a cardiologist I never went to. If I did, I’m sure the debt would be way over that amount due to the insanity of medical costs. I am 100% disabled under the VA, so my medical is free anyway. Complete lost cause contacting me on their part, because I am not dumb enough to pay that.
They also had a completely wrong social security number listed for me tied to the debt, so I guess they are fishing to random people whose information they bought of some data broker to see if they will pay off someone else’s debt out of not knowing better. Had another shady debt collection company try that tactic to get me to pay off a ticket to a car I wasnt even registered to in a different state.
Scumlord company for sure.

Getting calls from the NRA daily. I block the number and another one calls me the next day. They leave voicemails everytime. I have no outstanding debts with anyone and I know that for a fact. I still don’t understand what this gun group has to do with debt collecting? Are they saying people owe the NRA money? For what? Or are they representing collectors because they’re a big potentially intimidating group of *** *** *** who dont mind harassing innocent people who don’t support their cause at all?

Calling all hours of the day, disrespectful and annoying. I asked to send me an invoice of what was “owed” and she said that they weren’t going to do that. I wanted to see if it was actually my bill.

Why is this showing up on my credit report of 600 and something dollars and I don’t know what it’s for someone please help and inform me
Hope
I got a call today, she wanted me to verify and gave me whats to be my address and then gave me 4 digits that are to be the last 4 of my social security number…nothing like jeopardizing people’s identity! Initially, she said NRA and I told her I wasn’t interested in buying anything, I thought it was National Rifle Association. She said it was in regards to my personal information, I agreed, my personal informat ion and I wouldn’t verify address or ss digits, so she hung up on me. Well, isn’t that nice. …I don’t even know what it’s for…

We have so far been lucky and not received any phone calls but are getting letters every couple of weeks for a debt of only $20. Previously we’d gotten letters from American Agencies, LLC under the same address and phone number. This was a verifiable debt through Express Scripts, who they are saying is the one collecting the debt. I paid the $20 directly to Express Scripts (or rather, I called Express Scripts directly, who transferred me to their collections department who took my payment) back in April of 2016 and have a letter from American Agencies, LLC saying I paid in full. Now I’m getting the exact same letters from this NRA Group, LLC and when I call Express Scripts they are claiming there is no payment showing up from April even though it’s supposedly the same collections department. I’ve called the NRA Group directly only to be told they don’t have the full details of the debt, only the amount owed and do we want to go ahead and pay now. Baffling. We are at a loss on what to do and concerned about our credit reporting.

I have been recieving calls from nra group. They leave numerous voicemail which cause my voicemail box to be full and cant recieve relevant voicemail. I called collection agency on two different occasions and on those occasions i was given two different bills. Now im reluctant to pay. They called my family member on few other occasions forcing her to return their call and letting them know she is affiliated with me, just to have them stop calling her. I am willing to pay this bill, but I am not comfortable paying the collector. I have called the hospital a few times trying to reach there dept collection depertment, but wasnt an answer.

03/18/2016 at 12:12 pm eastern standard time I had spoken with a gentleman about obtaining a bill for my debt. The gentleman explained that a bill was sent out in the past and he does not have to send another one. He and his staff were verbally bullying me over a $84.76 debt. I explained that I will pay the debt as soon as I can get a bill stating what I owe and how much I owe. Kevin explained that he doesn’t care if I pay and hung up the phone. I was shocked and very willing to pay the debt just was in shock on how I was treated and wouldn’t be shocked if they were bullying everyone else this way. They clarified that my phone call was recorded. I will contact the original debt holder of this account and see If I can make a payment through them. I wouldn’t expect any person in America to pay a debt to the NRA GROUP LLC !!!!
