Can Jzanus Ltd Sue Me or Garnish My Wages?

It is illegal for a debt collector to make empty threats to sue you or garnish your wages. It is also unlikely Jzanus would sue you for a debt you may not owe or they cannot validate. However, debt collection agencies are known to have summoned debtors to court and garnish wages after a default judgement. Contacting an attorney BEFORE this could possibly happen would be a smart move. We’ve helped thousands of consumers fight back against unscrupulous debt collection harassers. Can you help me file a No Fee Lawsuit against Jzanus Ltd?

Absolutely. Here are some Sample Complaints

Complaints against Jzanus cite problems resulting from disputes about the validity of debts and the accuracy of billing and accounting practices. In August 2016, a complainant stated that he had received a collection letter from Jzanus regarding a medical bill from a local medical center requesting a payment of $400.00. The complainant contacted Jzanus and spoke to a representative, who allegedly told him “to send her all his medical bills,” so that she could “speak with someone from the financial department on his behalf.” The complainant said that he “really doesn’t understand why this collection company is writing to him; they need to contact the hospital” to obtain payment. The complainant requested that Jzanus open an “investigation on this matter.” He also said the collection activity is “stressing him out,” and that he “cannot afford to keep going to the hospital for stress and chest pain.” He said that “this harassment needs to stop,” and that he is unemployed. He requested that Jzanus “remove his name from their mailing list… and from their company” database and to contact the financial aid representative at the medical facility if they want any further information about bill payment. The complainant requested that Jzanus cease and desist all further communication. In response, Jzanus stated that the account had been “placed on hold pending the review of the Financial Aid Application.” They also stated that the “patient will not receive any letters from” Jzanus.

In July 2016, a complainant stated that he had undergone medical treatment with a date of service in January 2014. He said he had “never received any correspondence from the hospital concerning this outstanding bill,” but that in January 2016, Jzanus had sent a collection letter requesting over $500.00. The complainant said he had “all the correspondence relating to this charge,” but in May 2016, he received another collection notice from Jzanus. According tothe complainant, the issue in dispute was that if the hospital was not paid by his insurance company, Jzanus should not be contacting him for their failure to pay. Regardless, when the Jzanus representative contacted his home regarding the outstanding medical bill, he spoke to the complainant’s wife using a “very arrogant” tone and leaving no room for discussion or debate. In response, Jzanus stated that they had sent two collection letters and placed a phone call but had not spoken with the complainant prior to receiving the complaint. They stated “that there was an issue with the insurance payment on this account…It was not posted until December 2015,” and the “consumer had a liability after this payment,” which was “the cause of the delayed billing.” Jzanus also stated that their client had “mailed 3 statements prior to referring the account…in addition to multiple attempts to reach the patient by phone.” The complainant rejected the attempted resolution, claiming he had not received anything until 2 years after treatment and believed that Jzanus and their client were trying to force him to pay for their mistake.

Jzanus Ltd Calling You?

Federal laws protect you. The Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) regulates the behavior of collection agencies by prohibiting actions such as the use of abusive or threatening language; harassment; or the use of false or misleading information to collect a debt. The FCRA regulates how collection agencies and creditors report delinquent debts to credit reporting agencies. Additional consumer protection laws include the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and the Consumer Financial Protection Act (CFPA).

But here’s the rub: If you want to enforce your rights, or recover money for violations — you need to sue. These laws provide individuals like you with a means to seek monetary damages in court. For example, the FDCPA allows consumers who have been violated to recover damages of up to $1,000, plus attorney fees and court costs.
