Can Convergent Healthcare Recoveries Sue Me or Garnish My Wages?
It is illegal for a debt collector to make empty threats to sue you or garnish your wages. However, debt collection agencies do summon debtors to court and garnish wages after a default judgment. Contacting an attorney BEFORE this could possibly happen would be a smart move. We’ve helped thousands of consumers fight back against unscrupulous debt collection harassers. Find out if we can help you today!
A complainant explains that they received a call from this collection company on April 26th, 2019 saying that the complainant owes a company $451.30. After receiving this message, the complainant noted that their credit card, with this alleged debt, had been paid off. After noticing this flaw the complainant was billed once again by the collection company, which they again disputed. Now on April of 2019, the complainant received a phone call but no written statement in the mail saying the debt is still owed. The complainant claims that because they have the bill that they paid with the written amount and the October statement with the dispute from the company, as well as a marking that reads “paid”, this debt is not actually owed.
