Is BC Services a scam?
They’re legit. According to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) BC Services or BCS, is a legitimate collection agency located in Longmont, Colorado.
Who does BC Services collect for?
BC Services primarily focuses on health-related or medical debts, and has been doing this since the 1990s. BC Services is growing, and started building a new facility in 2015. The business utilizes both live and automated phone calls (robocalls), in addition to letters and garnishment orders to accumulate debt.
BC Services claims that they enjoy their customer support, wherein “client” clearly means the company that has retained them to collect a debt. All phone calls are recorded and available to the owner of the debt for inspection at any time, which would lead consumers to believe that all collection efforts are aboveboard. Yet, the company racked up numerous consumer criticisms with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Can BC Services Sue Me or Garnish My Wages?

However, debt collection agencies are known to have summoned debtors to court and garnish wages after a default judgement. Contacting an attorney BEFORE this could possibly happen would be a smart move. We’ve helped thousands of consumers fight back against unscrupulous debt collection harassers. I am trying to setup a payment plan for owed taxes with BC Services debt collection. They will not put specific details on the contract they sent over with information on the payment plan. Like how much monthly, payoff date, date payment is due. Anything at all but the total amount owed and if I agree to pay it. This just seems odd to me that they will not put any specifics on paper for you to sign but send a blanket contract to sign with no details. Is this right? Legal? A way for them to have you sign something and screw you over? I’ve payed debt collectors in the past and they always had the specifics of your payment plan in the contract they send over. This doesn’t seem right.
