Can you help me file a No Fee Lawsuit against Money Recovery Nationwide?
Absolutely. Here are some Sample Complaints
Complaints against Money Recovery Nationwide cite problems resulting from disputes about the validity of debts; the accuracy of information reported to the credit reporting agencies; and allegations of harassment. In March 2018, a complainant stated that she had been contacted by MRN regarding a medical bill she said she didn’t owe. According to the complainant, MRN “contacted her for immediate payment on an account that she was not aware of.” Allegedly, the MRN representative “was demanding, beyond rude, and disrespectful.” The MRN representative “refused to provide…written documentation on an account the complainant was unaware of and that was coming from a company she had never heard of.” The MRN representative stated that “she personally had mailed information to the complainant several times…and demanded that she make payment right then and there and threatened garnishment.” The complainant insisted that she had not received anything in the mail from MRN. She also stated that the MRN representative “rattled off an amount that she apparently owed and from three different places, but again provided no explanation as to what these amounts were for, specifically.”When the complainant requested verification of the debts again, the MRN representative “refused to send it to” her, stating that the complainant already should have received the information by mail. The MRN representative then allegedly told the complainant that because she “refused to pay, she was going to be forced to garnish” her wages. The complainant insisted she had not refused to paybut had “simply asked MRN to provide… the documentation that she needed to see what she was talking about.” The complainant accused MRN of “completely violating a person’s rights in being treated fairly and respectfully,” and accused the representative she had spoken with of making“demands and threats while being completely sarcastic.” The complainant stated that the representative“should not be a first-line employee; that the company needs to be completely evaluated; and that… human resources needs to step-in.”
In response, Money Recovery Nationwide stated that they had reviewed the call in question and discussed the exchange with the MRN representative mentioned in the complaint. MRN also “requested itemized bills from their clients” and promised to mail “all 13” billing statements to the complainant. In addition, MRN indicated there had been a security breach and posted an apology for previously “sending the wrong documents.” They stated that “unfortunately this can sometimes happen when consumers have similar names.” MRN said that all interested parties would receive “a letter explaining how it happened and that the state will also be notified of the breach.”
Money Recovery Nationwide Calling You?
Federal laws protect you. The Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) regulates the behavior of collection agencies by prohibiting actions such as the use of abusive or threatening language; harassment; or the use of false or misleading information to collect a debt. The FCRA regulates how collection agencies and creditors report delinquent debts to credit reporting agencies. Additional consumer protection laws include the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and the Consumer Financial Protection Act (CFPA).
But here’s the rub: If you want to enforce your rights, or recover money for violations — you need to sue. These laws provide individuals like you with a means to seek monetary damages in court. For example, the FDCPA allows consumers who have been violated to recover damages of up to $1,000, plus attorney fees and court costs.
